Yes, the time has finally come to wave the old codger goodbye (or is it au revoir? Or is it g’day?!) with the latest and last episode of ongoing (not anymore) street-sage melodrama, Alby Figgs. Episode 100 of the seemingly never ending saga is finally here!

This Friday sees ‘The Return of Old Whassisface‘, part 2 in the Alby Figgs nail-biting thriller ‘Get Figgsey!’, and as you can see from this sneak preview, it’s not looking good for the Albster, but is everyone’s favourite (?) codger just off his ‘Senior Spesh’ or is there more afoot than JG’s refried ‘Hash-U-Like’? Brand new Alby Figgs serial, ‘Get Figgsey!’ out Friday…

Yes, he’s back! Everyone’s favourite (?!) 70-something human-natterbox, Alby Figgs, in brand new seven part edge-of-your-pants weekly serial, ‘Get Figgsey!’ this Friday at the Alby website. What’s more, this seven part run sees a temporary return to glorious old-school black and white (with a bit of grey on the sidies).

In the first episode, ‘Death in Aisle Three’, Alby brushes up to an unwanted old acquaintance amongst the baked beans and non-perishable goods at his local supermarket. From there, it’s thrills-a-plenty as everything starts to go pear-shaped in true ‘Arry Palmer stylee.

Comiket Drawing Parade and Alby Figgs Book signing this Saturday

I’m going to be taking part in the latest Comica Comiket’s Drawing Parade along with a whole load of other comicky talent this Saturday 16th at the British Library 96 Euston Road, London NW1 2DB (on around about 2.00 pm). It’s also going to be the first opportunity for you braying masses to get your mitts on a signed and scribbled on, brand new Alby Figgs book from the Blank Slate Books table.

Gorgeously dressed by top graphic tailor, Woodrow Phoenix, the Alby Figgs book is now available for sale in all good shops and online through the Blank Slate website.

Admission to the Comiket this Saturday is free, by the way and is part of this month’s Comica Festival. Click the previous link for full details of what’s on. It’s also a good time to catch the final days of the British Library’s Comics Unmasked exhibition if you haven’t seen it yet.

 

New Alby Figgs book from Blank Slate!

Look who turned up in the post last week! In my cold, scratched hands, I’m chuffed to say the new Alby Figgs book, graphic novel, illustrated narrative compendium, bumper summertime special (however you like to call your comics these days), will be on sale next month from the brilliant Blank Slate Books. Collecting strips from Alby’s first year (season 1?!) previously aired on the Alby Figgs website, in a new format and with some additional material, it’s a gorgeously produced package aided by that master of sharpie comic book design, Woodrow Phoenix, who’s book jackets always match the sharpness of his dinner jackets.

Regale over Alby classics like Diagnosis, Deaf, Figgsy Pudding, Edwin Druid, the Freudian Gutbuster and many, many more.

This Friday , September the 20th at around tea-time, everyone’s favourite 70 something amateur natterer, Alby Figgs, returns for brand new adventures in psych-babble street philosophy and elasticated truth stretching. After this season 2 opener, there’ll be a new monthly schedule, every first Friday from October, expanded stripage (two tiers–good), full colour colouring in and a brand new wooly jumper.
