Alby Figgs Final Episode!

alby_blueskies

Yes, the time has finally come to wave the old codger goodbye (or is it au revoir? Or is it g’day?!) with the latest and last episode of ongoing (not anymore) street-sage melodrama, Alby Figgs. Episode 100 of the seemingly never ending saga is finally here!

Take to the ‘Blue Skies’ with the Albster for one last trip right here http://wp.me/p2xlpi-80

I’d like to thank everyone of you for enjoying (?!), putting up with/ supporting my intermitent frivolities and wish you a safe and positive new year despite the shite-load of crap currently being shovelled onto human and animal kind at the mo.

Look out for new regular strips coming in the new year via warrenpleece.com and pleecebrothers.com.

I’ll be talking at tomorrows Graphic Brighton-Drawing in the Margins conference at the Sallis Benney Hall in the University of Brighton, Grand Parade, Brighton from 11.20am, mostly about Incognegro, but probably also running through my career celebrating the outsider in comics. I’ll also be sharing the stage with cartoonist Patrice Aggs talking about her work and Alex Fitch from Resonance FM.

Details of the two day event are here and there’s a whole host of comicy talent and interesting talks to boot.

See you there?!

Brand new Alby Figgs serial, ‘Get Figgsey!’ out Friday…

alby_deathinaile3

Yes, he’s back! Everyone’s favourite (?!) 70-something human-natterbox, Alby Figgs, in brand new seven part edge-of-your-pants weekly serial, ‘Get Figgsey!’ this Friday at the Alby website. What’s more, this seven part run sees a temporary return to glorious old-school black and white (with a bit of grey on the sidies).

In the first episode, ‘Death in Aisle Three’, Alby brushes up to an unwanted old acquaintance amongst the baked beans and non-perishable goods at his local supermarket. From there, it’s thrills-a-plenty as everything starts to go pear-shaped in true ‘Arry Palmer stylee.

Tune in on Friday!

Doctor Who The Eleventh Doctor #7

11D_07_Strip_Inks-0

Out today 21st January from Titan Comics, issue 7 of the brand new Doctor Who The Eleventh Doctor series, written by Rob Williams and drawn by me. The concluding second part of this two-parter, written by Al Ewing, will follow in a few weeks time. In the meantime, I thought I’d include some of my black and white pre-lettered originals alongside the final coloured versions.

This has been another dream job for me, drawing the Doc, countless spaceships and alternative worlds, not that far removed from my 12 year old self’s ‘job description’ back in the day, with the plus of not having to go to a depressing 1970s school.

I’m currently starting work on another two part story for issues 12 and 13.
